Before I go any further, let me just say that while this was not planned (at this time, anyway) I am quite pleased. Let me also just say that I know all the reasons this should not have happened, so those of you who feel the need to make negative comments, go right ahead...its nothing I haven't said to myself a hundred times. In fact, if you are so inclined, feel free to e-mail me at camppitweiler@gmail.com or call me at (920) 229-3223.
Some of the members here may remember Pilot. He is 10 years old, and did quite a bit of winning in his day. Last year he had an intestinal blockage that required some pretty major surgery. He recovered and is doing quite well now, although he is showing his age. His semen was evaluated early this year, in anticipation of a collection. We were very sad to find that his sperm count was not only low, but so was the motility. We were advised he would probably never sire another litter. So, while we were aware that he did tie with Flower, we werent concerned or excited.
About 6 weeks later, things changed! Dean is thrilled, while I am quite torn. In a perfect world Flower would have all her health tests and be 2 yrs old. We took Pilot to be collected so that in the future we could have a litter from him.....well, apparently there is a higher power at work.
Again, before you slam me for this, remember that I have a number of intact males and females, and in 15 years in dogs, this is my first "accidental breeding".....but if your gonna have an accident, this is the kind I want! So, without further delay, here is the pedigree:
