Does anyone know anything about the Sorrell dogs? Has any of them been in the show ring or are they too high strung for that sort of thing. Thanks in
advanced.

I have seen some really nice Bert Sorrells dogs myself. They are "old school" game bred Pit Bulls. Him and his son Bret still breed. Here is there
website if you haven't seen it. He is a well known dog man and many know him from some of his tri colored game dogs. He is an ADBA judge and very good
friends with the Greenwood family(ADBA). He also judges AADR. He is in Florida. You can check out his website for the history and what he breeds for.
http://www.sorrellspitbulls.com/ His ex wife is remarried but still breeding "Sorrells" dogs. They are in FL also and have a website as well. Tatonka Kennels http://www.ampitbull.com/introduction.htm I'm not sure what you mean by high strung but they are game bred dogs and the ones I've seen are very active. I'm not sure if anyone has showed them in the UKC but I have personally never heard of anyone doing so. Most people that acquire dogs from well known game dog lines like Sorrells show them in the ADBA. Diane Jessup's yard is based on Sorrells dogs. She seems to really like them. Chris

I have never seen them shown in UKC either, not that they couldnt be. Its how you raise a gamedog as well. My Jeep male Wyatt was raised riding around in my
mobile grooming van back in Ohio,...he is a total dollbaby with other dogs, HOWEVER.........when we pull up at a ADBA show he goes ballistic! He actually turns
into a different dog. I dont know if he senses the other dogs attitudes or what it is, but he is a perfect gentleman at the UKC weight pulls we have taken him
too...but let him out of the car at the ADBA shows and he tries to eat every dog that even looks at him
When I was first trying to get the hubby into ADBA shows I thought he would
have fun with Wyatt, and let him show him. LOL....he came out of the ring and said "YOU SHOW THIS CRAZY DOG NEXT TIME!" it was 90 degrees out in
the sun and he is a black dog....all the others had stopped barking, but Wyatt..he was kicking up dirt and barking his head off and panting like a mad
man....needless to say he went on to take a Best in Show that day
Some things can be altered and managed but you cant take the drive and intensity out of a game dog
